LOAND HOUSE COURT IS IDEALLY SITUATED FOR EXPLORING THE NORTH YORK MOORS NATIONAL PARK. THE LOCAL COUNTRYSIDE IS PERFECT FOR BOTH WALKERS AND CYCLISTS WITH MOORLAND AND FOREST IN EASY REACH.
Anna and Julian and family are delighted to welcome you to their beautiful home, Loand House Court. A real home from home.
The garden is spacious with plenty of grassed space and fruit trees surrounded by lovely well tendered flower boarders and a raised, tiered vegetable garden.
The apple trees provide perfect dappled shade for a picnic but also produce lovely crisp apples which we harvest and have pressed into delicious apple juice for you to enjoy.
Sourdough is Anna's most recent passion and with prior arrangement we would be delighted to have a beautiful, tasty loaf waiting for you in your cottage.
Our feature ‘Tower’ building has never really had a very exciting existence!
It is likely Victorian in heritage. It probably came in kit form as steel hoops (formers) were cemented into its wall, all that was required were enough bricks and the instructions!
It was originally built as a silage/haylage tower. It would be loaded with hay/straw from the top capped and left ready for providing winter feed.
It became neglected over time and in 2011, about to collapse altogether, it was renovated to create the wonderful, fully equipped utility it is today.
With sturdy wall mounted bike rack the tower is a perfect secure store for your bikes. If you don't want to bring your own bike then there are a couple of bike shops locally who provide bike hire; Big Bear Bikes in Pickering, Dalby Bike Barn in Thornton le Dale and Sutton Bank Bikes at Sutton Bank.
‘Loand’ - thought to be a derivitive of Laund ‘an open grassy space’. Loand House Court is surrounded by open fields, farmland and forest.
